MSR Elixir 1-person tent

MSR Elixir 1-person tent

A light and compact tent for hiking.

The design of the MSR Elixir 1 tent's free-standing domed ceiling creates a feeling of spaciousness inside the tent, making it extremely comfortable to live in.

The tent consists of two parts - an inner tent with mesh and an outer waterproof tent, thus providing better ventilation, warmth and privacy.
Both parts of the tent can be set up separately, so with this tent it is possible to go on a "fast and light" adventure using the part of the tent needed in the relevant weather.

Reflective zipper and tent drawstrings in the dark.
Includes the MSR Elixir Footprint tent floor, which together with the waterproof tent top provides a “Fast and Light” configuration.
Easy installation: The free-standing system has color-coded pegs, clips and straps.

What you need to know for the tent to last long and reliably

How to store and take care of the tent so that it serves long and reliably.

  • Never pack or store your tent when it is damp, wet or dirty. Storing a wet tent in warm weather for even just 24 hours can cause mold growth. Prolonged exposure to moisture causes hydrolysis, which causes the waterproof layer to break down, making it soft, sticky and permeable. Mold damages the tent, creates an odor and leads to the degradation of the waterproof coating.
  • Even if the tent feels dry after use, it is always best to make sure the tent is completely dry before storing. After returning from the hike, unpack the tent, spread it loosely and let it dry thoroughly for a couple of days. Turn the sides periodically to make sure everything has dried thoroughly.
  • Store the tent in an uncompressed, breathable cotton or mesh pack. Do not store in the original packaging as they are usually moisture resistant and non-breathable.
  • Cleaning the tent is not necessary unless it is smelly or very muddy. If the tent is very muddy, use a garden hose or shower pressure to remove the mud. To clean stains, fold the tent and wash with warm water, a sponge and mild soap. Do not use stain removers, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, bleach or soaking agents. Rinse well. Dry the tent pitched or hanging loose. Never chemically clean the tent, do not wash or dry it in the washing machine. Either of these methods can remove all waterproof coatings from the tent.
  • Due to their light materials, these tents are not intended for long-term pitching in the yard or garden. Their materials prematurely degrade under the influence of long-term UV radiation.
  • Store in a dry and cool place away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not dry on heat sources (radiators)
