Avalanche Rescue Transceiver

The Barryvox® 2 compact transceiver, or as it's commonly known, a transceiver, is an indispensable piece of equipment for freeride skiers and snowboarders. It is intuitive to use with a 70 m range and efficient search support functions.

The Barryvox 2 continuously checks its operation using a self-test function. 

For additional safety in rescue operations, the Barryvox® 2 transceiver is equipped with a rescue SEND function and automatic switching from search to send.

When searching for buried objects, it provides clear guidance through acoustic search cues, voice instructions, and display instructions. In the Mammut app, you can perform updates, configurations, and avalanche training to be ready to make quick and smart decisions in emergencies.

• Rescue SEND: A protection function for non-searching rescuers. In the event of a secondary avalanche, it automatically switches to SEND to allow rescuer location
• Automatically switches to SEND: A safety feature for rescuers looking for an avalanche transceiver in the event of a secondary avalanche burial. If the rescuer does not move for four minutes, the avalanche transceiver automatically switches from SEARCH to SEND thanks to the motion sensor.
• Automatic Self-Test: Barryvox® checks the transmission and paging function signal when it is switched on and performs regular transmission and battery tests.
• Interference Guard: Barryvox® manages and minimizes signal interference and indicates any interference in transmit and seek mode.
• Group Test: Use this feature to quickly and easily test the transmission frequency and strength of other Avalanche transceivers for proper functionality.
• Voice guidance: Barryvox® helps provide additional guidance at all stages of your search. This feature is currently not available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the United States.
• Acoustic search cue: A sequence of tones guides you in the direction of the buried object and ensures that you can focus on the avalanche field while searching.
• Intuitive visual interface: intuitively guides all phases of the search and provides an overview of multiple buried objects.
• Automatic Selection: In case of multiple burials, Barryvox® will route to the strongest signal first.
• Marking function for multiple burials.
• The reverse direction feature avoids 180 degree search errors.
• Deep burial mode: If a very deep burial is detected, the precise search automatically starts earlier (> 3m) for accurate guidance.
